Last Saturday was the open house for the new Handmade Philly space at Tulpehocken Exchange in Germantown, Philadelphia. My holiday silhouette class was the inaugural art class in the space. We had a great group of people in a relaxed, fun setting. I taught them how to cut paper silhouettes freehand using their eyes to dictate what they saw, how to mount their silhouettes. I demonstrated a silhouette cutting with one of the class participants as a model. Some class members made their portraits by having other class members sit for them while others used photos. Everyone ended up with a matted silhouette to take home! Check out the slideshow below for photos of the class and a flyer for upcoming classes.
